The three wireless routers supporting WiFi 6 are ty-300, TP-LINK xdr3020 and ASUS tuf-ax3000. I have removed all three routers. The hardware is as follows:
Tianyi ty-300 Broadcom chip, 2.4G does not support ax, the speed is 300mbps, 5g supports ax, the speed is 1201mbps, 2x2mimo, does not support 160MHz bandwidth
Xdr3020 is Intel chip, 2x2mimo, 5g speed 2402mbps, support 160MHz bandwidth;
ASUS tuf-ax3000, 2.4g2x2mimo, 5g 4x4mpa, 5g rate 4804mbps, 160MHz bandwidth support.
Xiaomi 10 mobile phone supports WiFi 6, 2x2mimo, does not support 160MHz bandwidth, and 5g speed under WiFi 6 is up to 1201mbps;
Huawei mate20 mobile phone does not support WiFi 6. The highest speed is 1733mbps in WiFi 5 and 160MHz bandwidth, and 866mbps in 80MHz bandwidth.
2.4G is not measured, only 5g is measured. The purpose is to see the wireless speed comparison between Huawei mate20 and Xiaomi 10 mobile phone in WiFi 5 of 160 bandwidth and WiFi 6 of 80 bandwidth. The theory and parameters are the same thing, while the actual measurement is the same thing. Generally, some problems will be found in the actual measurement, and only when there are problems, there will be a direction of thinking. All of them can be talked about with the actual measurement data, which is also for your reference. This is acwifi（ Router communication).
The three wireless routers are all set in 40 channels, because 160MHz bandwidth is needed to take effect. At present, 6GHz bandwidth resources have not been opened, and only in low channels can there be enough bandwidth. Turn on WiFi 6 mode. The plan is as follows:
The WiFi 6 router to be tested is placed in the "WiFi" position in the figure above. Two mobile phones are placed in a, B, C, D and 0.618 meters away from the router to measure the speed. 0.618 is the golden section point, I believe it can produce the most perfect speed at this distance, HMM.... I'm talking nonsense. The actual distance is more than 1 meter. It's unstable if it's too close.
Test mode: a broken computer is equipped with the Speedtest program. The IP of the network card is 192.168.8.1. The network port of the computer is connected to the WAN port of the router. The WAN port of the router uses the static IP mode to access the Internet. The IP of the WAN port specifies 192.168.8.2. The gateway and DNS settings are 192.168.8.1. The device connected to the router can run the speed test page as long as it enters 192.168.8.1 in the browser, so that it can break through the limit of 1000m up and down speed of broadband. The interface is as follows:
Record the speed of downlink and uplink, as well as the Ping value (delay), connect each position for speed measurement 5 times, and finally take the average value. The time of a single test can be adjusted with parameters. I prefer a longer time. It takes 20 seconds for both the downlink and the uplink. I like the method of measuring speed and averaging again and again, so as to effectively reduce the error.
1、 Ty300 test of Tianyi
Because it does not support 160MHz bandwidth, Huawei mate205g has a maximum speed of 866mbps, Xiaomi 10 is 1201mbps, which can also be seen as the wireless speed comparison between WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 under the same router.. All results are as follows:
The blue column is Xiaomi 10, and the red column is mate20. The difference is obvious. The speed of Xiaomi 10 is faster in most places, and the gap between 866mbps and 1201mbps is here. Except at point C, this location is 11 meters away from the router. On the other hand, Huawei's 5g uplink speed is significantly lower.
In terms of delay, because of the difference of measurement unit (MS), it cannot be placed in the same table:
The delay of millet 10 at point C is high, which also reflects the speed. Except for the position of point C, the other four positions are all WIFI6 lower than WIFI5, with higher speed and lower delay. I always think so!
2、 TP-LINK xdr3020 test
Because xdr3020 supports 160MHz bandwidth, Huawei mate20 has a maximum 5g speed of 1733mbps when connected to it. Xiaomi 10 mobile phone does not support it, so it has a higher speed than the 1201mbps of Xiaomi 10. From here, we can see whether it supports WiFi 5 with 160 bandwidth or WiFi 6 with 80 bandwidth. All results are as follows:
In the near distance and the A-point position on the wall, the 5g speed of Huawei mate20 mobile phone supporting 160MHz is faster than that of Xiaomi 10 in WiFi 6 state. However, it may be because xdr3020 is unstable in continuous speed measurement state, resulting in a little big speed fluctuation of mobile phone. At point B, the C value is almost the same, but the up speed is much lower than mate20, until point C and point d downstairs are more distinct. The downward speed is the advantage of mate20.
In terms of delay, see the following figure:
The delay is still low at Xiaomi 10. In addition to point C, although the downlink speed is faster than mate20, the uplink speed is obviously slow, resulting in a higher delay. The time delay of point C is the same as that of ty300 test. Xiaomi 10 also suffers from high time delay here.
3、 ASUS tuf-ax3000 test
Set up the U.S. region, because it supports 160MHz, and the connection rate of mobile phone is like that of xdr3020, no more details. All results are as follows:
At close range, the two are almost the same. There are no 10, 000 megaports or 2.5G ports, so it's hard to distinguish the winner and the loser at close range. However, the ax89x with 10, 000 megaports does not agree with mate20. Do you want to wait for the 2.5G tplink-xdr6060 to have another vigorous comparative test?
In the d-point position downstairs, both speeds are not good, that is, the router is not good. How do you think the wireless speed of ASUS tuf-ax3000 in the d-point position is not as good as the 200 yuan Tianyi ty300? Maybe if the tuf-ax3000 doesn't open 160, it will be a little stronger.... There is this possibility.
Look at the delay:
The delay is also higher for Huawei. It seems that WiFi 6 is really conducive to delay.
High speed can still bring high speed. In the short distance, which speed is high, which speed is fast. However, in the long distance, the wireless connection speed of 160MHz bandwidth decays greatly, which is not necessarily advantageous for 80MHz equipment. At first glance, the delay of WiFi 6 is lower than that of WiFi 5. But the conclusion of delay is a little early. We should use the same mobile phone and the same router to test the comparison between WiFi 6 on and WiFi 6 off.
